What is an asset type?

An asset type is any category of equipment owned or operated by your organization, but especially those types of equipment that require routine maintenance and servicing.

There are two classes of asset types:

What are System asset types?

System asset types are the default asset types that exist for every Organization.

These are:

Vehicle A generic term for any engine-powered class of equipment driven alone or in combination with a Trailer; for example, a truck, tractor, or bus.
Trailer A generic term for any towed piece of equipment used in combination with a Vehicle.

System asset types cannot be modified or deleted. If your organization requires more specific classes of assets, create a custom asset type.
